Repairing Horses
Whether your horse has just been a bit grumpy lately or has had a serious infection/injury, Bowen Therapy can help them recover quicker and be more like their old selves again.
In some cases your horse might always have been 'unhelpful', but as this really isn't the true nature of the vast majority of horses it may be that he is trying to tell you something!
Horses can damage themselves by pulling back when tied up, getting cast, slipping on ice/tarmac and from falls, injuries and overstretching just like we do. Chances are if you had a serious tumble or fall and felt sore your horse has felt it too! Many older horses appear stiff or sway backed but can be brought back into gentle work following a few sessions of Equine Bowen Therapy.
In fact all horses will benefit from a Bowen session, a bit like tuning an instrument - you will get a much better 'note' from him after. Strides are elevate as the shoulders are released and more power comes through from behind as the muscles in the quarters are given the information they need to soften, release tension, glide freely and work independantly rather than as a solid mass.
Just like human Bowen, treatment consists of a series of small rolling movements with the two minute breaks to absorb the information and also to allow time to observe any changes that may be occuring.
Treatments begin a weekly intervals and you may require 3 or 4 before you notice any changes however this is rare and most people see significant improvements in their horse after the first session.
A session last approximately 1 hour however the first consultation and treatment can take up to 2 hours - this allows me to do a thorough assesment and take any relevant case history.
