What Happens?

And will it hurt?bowen therapy - its not massage, its not chiropractic and its not acupressure - its simply amazing!

I will take a case history and assess you.  Im not a doctor so I cannot make any diagnosis and I may request that you go and see your GP before I will treat you.

You will lie face down on the treatment couch (if you're physically able to - otherwise seated is fine).

You can be fully clothed if you prefer but I cannot work through jeans, jodphurs or lycra tights (!) so bring something baggy to slip into.

The treatment consists of a series of small rolling movements over specific points which instruct the body to re-align and rebalance itself.  There is no forceful manipulation used.  If anything is painful then I will back off - this is not a case of 'no pain no gain'!

Each series of moves is followed by a two minute break which allows the body to absorb the information I have given it.  In this time you may feel some odd sensations - this is good, it is the body beginning to repair itself.

After you will probably feel very relaxed and possibly a little 'spacey'.  Most people report a great nights sleep after their session.

AFTERCARE: You will be asked to drink plenty water to keep yourself hydrated as the Bown flushes toxins from your system.  You may feel a bit stiff, like you've overdone it at the gym - this is common and shows that your body is responding.

If you are worried about anything after the treatment then give me a quick call and I will try my best to explain what is happening to you.
